A laugh to combat the despair brought about by the dumping of wine into lentil soup of all things

Today Mum decided to cook with wine. My long-term fellow inebriates will know how offensive this is and maybe offer some sympathy. Cooking! Seriously. That’s not what we do with wine.

So. So then. Let’s alleviate the despair with a video. If you have a two-year-old or have ever been bound from head to toe in a tensor bandage by one, you’ll probably like this.

  1. Really, LB. I find your “no wine in my food” attitude rather surprising given your love of all things intoxicating and the fact your parents have declared dry weekdays.

I would think you’d be rejoicing for wine in the appetizers, wine in the soup, wine in the sauce, wine in the sherbet, wine in the desert. Don’t discourage your mum — on a weeknight — from using wine. Get your weekday buzz where you can.

That idea that cooking removes alcohol, totally incorrect. http://whatscookingamerica.net/Q-A/AlcoholCooking.htm

    • Wow!!! There is hope after all. (But it seems an inefficient way to drink, doesn’t it?) I’ll have to write a post on these…thank you very much for posting the link!!
As for my mum, well, SIGH. Let’s hope she cracks soon on the dry weekdays edict. I think she will. She just had to prove she wasn’t a total alcoholic.

What's your poison? Drop me a line.
